About

With a post graduation in Marine Biology and doctorate from School of Marine Sciences, Cochin University of Science and Technology, Dr. Ranjeet started his research career as a Post doctoral fellow in an Indo-Dutch (CUSAT- Wagenengen Agricultural University, The Netherlands) collaborative programme. He later moved on to King Fahd University of Petroleum and Chemicals, Saudi Arabia as Fishery Biologists in the prestigious United Nations Compensation Committee project to assess the impact of 1991 Gulf war related oil spill in Arabian Gulf. He joined Kerala Agricultural University as Research Associate before taking up an academic career as Assistant Professor at MES Ponnani College. He joined KUFOS as Associate Professor in 2015 and since then has officiated as Director i/c, School of Fisheries Resource Management and Harvest Technology. At present he is heading the Department of Aquatic Environment Management and also is the Co-chair for the Centre for Excellence in Aquatic Resource Management and Conservation. He has published over 30 articles in national and international journal and eight researchers are pursuing their doctoral degree under his supervision. His area of interest includes Fisheries, Aquaculture Genetics, Coastal ecosystem dynamics, Environmental Impact Assessment, Invertebrate taxonomy, Marine biodiversity and conservation.
