About

Dr.Shyni K, Assistant Professor (Fish Processing Technology), Department of Fish Processing Technology, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS), Kochi, completed her graduation in Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc) from the Kerala Agricultural University, College of Fisheries, Panangad; postgraduate degree in Fish Processing Technology from Dept of Fish Processing Technology, College of Fisheries, Veraval as an ICAR-JRF. She secured her PhD under the Faculty of Marine Sciences, School of Industrial Fisheries, Cochin University of Science and Technology. She has worked as a Senior Research Fellow at Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Cochin for 5 years and 5 months in three projects named Isolation and characterization of collagen and gelatin from aquatic sources and development to pharmaceutical and food grade products of commercial importance" funded by DBT, "Extraction and purification of marine biomolecules and their derivatives for nutritional and industrial applications" funded by CMLRE and "Green Fishing Systems For Tropical Seas" funded by NASF-ICAR. She has published several publications in peer reviewed international journals and has got two awards for international paper presentations.
