KUFOS has unique courses with Swimming as compulsory subject for Under Graduate Programmes. Swimming plays an important part in the life of a student in KUFOS.
KUFOS Provides swimming training to students with Separate Male & female coaches. In near future, We are planning to start Swimming Academy for Students and swimming enthusiasts. The Academy will focus on Aquatics including competitive swimming as well as Recreative swimming and Diving.
This semi-Olympic pool has six lanes and can accommodate 550,000 liters of water & offers individualized coaching. The dimensions of swimming Pool is 25 Metres in length and 15 Metres in width. Its six lanes and substantial capacity of 550,000 liters of water provide ample space for both recreational swimming and competitive training.
The KUFOS swimming pool has showers, change rooms, and water filtration and chlorination facilities. It also hosts expert coaching in water polo and all four strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly.

Milestone Achieved: Developed captive breeding protocol for Indigo barb (Pethia Setnai), delivered the seeds to the Director, Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (ICAR- CCARI), Goa.




Breakthrough in Conservation: Over 10,000 fingerlings of the threatened ‘Yellow Catfish’ (Horabagrus brachysoma) were provided to the Department of Fisheries, Government of Kerala, for aquaranching in the Poringalkuthu Reservoir as part of the Reservoir Fisheries Development Project (2024-2025).


Boosting Conservation: Over 300 Advanced of the threatened yellow catfish (Horabagrus brachysoma) were introduced into Kerala’s largest freshwater lake, Sasthamcotta Lake, in March 2024 for stock enhancement and conservation as part of the implementation of the Plan project on “ developing captive breeding protocols for the yellow catfish in Sasthamcotta Lake” .



Empowering Conservation and Livelihoods: Over 8,000 advanced fingerlings of the threatened yellow catfish (Horabagrus brachysoma) were supplied in September 2024 as part of the ‘Stock Enhancement of Native Fish Species’ project in Sasthamcotta Lake, implemented by the District Panchayat Kollam and the Department of Fisheries
