The Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies has organized Sports events during dates given below

◈ 5/6/2022 to 9/6/2022- Annual Sports meet

Annual Sports meet was conducted in KUFOS during 5-9 June 2022. It was inaugurated by Shri Sachin Baby, Kerala Cricket team captain in the presence of Honourable Vice Chancellor Dr. M. Rosalind George and Shri B. K. Robin Menon, Senior Coach SAI. All the athletic events and tournaments were conducted. Awards and Trophies were distributed.

◈ National Sports Day was celebrated on August 29, 2022

National Sports Day was celebrated on August 29, 2022 under the leadership of KUFOS Sports Club, Amogha Students Union and KUFOS Physical Education Department. The National sports day celebration was organized with the joint coordination of Sports club and marked the beginning of sports activities of the academic year. Volleyball, Swimming and Chess competition was held and students zealously participated in each of it.

Anandu Krishna Sagar (MFSc) bagged the first position and Madhur Garg (BFSc ’21) bagged the second position in the chess tournament conducted as part of the celebration. In the women’s volleyball tournament held at the university volleyball court, MFSc won first position and BFSc’20 won second position, while in men’s volleyball tournament BFSc’18 won first position and BFSc’19 won second position. Zhaveilou (BFSc’18), Salahuddin (BFSc’19) and Amal R (MSc Marine MicroBiology) bagged first, second and third positions respectively in the swimming tournament held at the university swimming pool.

◈ 25/10/2022 to 30/11/2022- KUFOS Champions League

Under the leadership of KUFOS Sports Club, KUFOS Physical Education Department and Amogha Students Union, a football tournament named ‘KUFOS Champions League’ was organized on 9th December 2022. Club R.M. This fives tournament was played on turf. University Registrar Dr. Manoj Kumar kicked off the match. Many people including teachers, non-teachers and students participated in the tournament. 8 teams participated in the match — Senegal FC, Tunisia FC, Ghana FC, Japan FC, Morocco FC, Serbia FC, Nigeria FC, Cameroon FC. Under the leadership of Captain Deepak Lal, Morocco F.C. was the tournament winners. KCL Ever rolling trophy was awarded to winners. Player of the tournament was Deepak Lal (Morocco F.C.), best goalkeeper Salomon Eldos (Morocco F.C.), top scorer Swabir (Tunisia F.C.) and best defender was Ziad (Tunisia F.C.)

◈ 25/10/2022 to 30/11/2022- KUFOS Premiere League

KUFOS Sports Club, KUFOS Physical Education Department and Amogha Students Union have organized a cricket league tournament named ‘KUFOS Premier League’ from 10th December to 25th December 2022. The match was held at the university ground. University Registrar Dr. Manoj Kumar inaugurated the tournament and released the jersey. Six teams participated in the tournament — Gladiators, Spartans, Stallions, Vikings, Pirates and Titans. Gladiators who played under the leadership of Captain Liju and Vice-CaptainEldho J. Pau, l, won the tournament and won the KPL ever rolling Trophy.

◈ 02.03.2024 to 06.03.2024 Annual Sports meet

Annual Sports meet 23-24 was inaugurated by National Athletic team for Blind, in presence of Hon Vice Chancellor, Dr. Pradeepkumar T and Registrar Dr. Dinesh K. All the athletic meets and tournaments were conducted. Prizes, certificates and trophies were distributed.
