About

Dr.K.Manjusha is a Post-Graduate in Microbiology from Dr.G.R.Damodaran College of Science, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. She qualified her CSIR –UGC NET for Lectureship in 2004. She completed her PhD in Microbiology under the guidance of Dr.A.V. Saramma from the Department of Marine Biology, Microbiology & Biochemistry, School of Marine Sciences Cochin University of Science and Technology in 2012. She has over eleven years of teaching to her credit . She was working as Assistant Professor in Microbiology in St.Xavier’s College for Women, Aluva for 8 years prior to joining KUFOS. She has also worked as Lecturer in Microbiology on FIP deputation vacancy in the Department of Microbiology, SreeSankara College, Kalady for a period 3 months and for 2.8 years as Guest lecturer in Union Christian College, Aluva. She is the Co-Principal Investigator of a major project (on-going) funded by Kerala State Council for Science Technology & Environment entitled ‘ Diversity & Biotic Potential of Yeasts from the Mangroves of Central Kerala’. She is a Member of the Board of Examiners for PhD Thesis Adjudication Yenepoya (Deemed to be University, Mangalore), Microbiology Board of Studies member of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayama, Expert Committee member of P.G Microbiology Syllabus revision M.G University. Her research interest is in the area of bioactive compounds from microbes.
