Completed Bachelor of Fisheries Science from the Kerala Agriculture University, College of Fisheries, Panangad with First Rank Master of Fisheries Science in Fish Production Management from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore - College of Fisheries, Mangalore. Carried out PhD research in molecular biology at the National Institute of Immunology and degree was awarded from the Delhi University Joined College of Fisheries, Panangad as Assistant Professor in the year 1995 In the year 2005 promoted as Associate Professor Professor in the Kerala Univeristy of Fisheries and Ocean Studies from 2011 Serving as Head, Department of Aquatic Animal Health Management since its inception in the year 2014. Received the prestigious Department of Biotechnology, Govt.Of India, Overseas Associateship leading to Post doctoral research training in advanced techniques in Biotechnology for six months (30 September 2004-30 March 2005) in the lab ‘Pathogens and Immunity’, CNRS, under the supervision of Drs. Jean Robert Bonami and Joannes Sri Widada, Research Directors at the University of Montpellier II, France. Technology generated Developed a rapid detection kit for white tail viral disease of the freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii based on LAMP technology Chairperson, State Aquatic Animal Health Surveillance Team Co ordinated the implementation bioflock technolgy as a part of the 'Subhisham Keralam' project of Government of Kerala. Organized numerous training programmes for farmers, entrepreneurs and department officials
