Club Activities

There are clubs like arts club, music club, film club, dance club, rotaract club, nature club, and literature club actively operating for the holistic developments of all the students. The Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies has organized Club activities during dates given below in the last five years.

◈ 14/02/2019 – Rotaract Club – Valentines Day

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies observed Valentine’s Day as a tradition by organizing an awareness campaign among students to abstain from pre-marital sex, promote celibacy until marriage and reach out to the needy. The University also organizes a blood donation camp at times. The University also organized a charity drive with the help of the Music Society of the University. The money was distributed among the less privileged families in the locality near the University.

◈ 22/03/2019 – Arts Club – Holi Celebrations

On March 22, 2019, Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies reverberated with the jubilant spirit of Holi as the KUFOS family gathered for a colorful celebration, embodying unity, harmony, and equality. This vibrant event was a testament to the university’s commitment to fostering a culture of inclusivity and camaraderie.
As the day progressed, the campus transformed into a kaleidoscope of hues, with laughter and excitement filling the air. Participants, irrespective of their backgrounds, joined hands in the spirit of celebration, exemplifying the beauty of teamwork and collective engagement.

◈ 14/04/2019 – Arts Club – Vishu Celebrations

Vishu is celebrated annually in the University with this as an objective. Vishu is celebrated with joy and enthusiasm by people from all communities in Kerala. As part of the celebrations the students and staff members participate in various games such as ‘sundariku pottuthodal’, ‘uriadi’, musical chairs, etc. Traditional dances forms, folk music and art forms from the various regions of Kerala such as ‘Keralanadanam’, ‘vanchipattu’, ‘pullikali’ and the like were performed. Feast was also organized by various departments of the University wherein all the students and teachers banquet together. This harvest festival of Kerala brings together people from diverse communities and propagates the divine message of unity in diversity.

◈ 20/06/2019 – Arts Club – Face Painting Competition

Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies conducted the “FACE PAINTING” competition on 20/06/2019 at Western Campus. Great artists don’t always need a canvas to express their mind. Artistic minds of KUFOS made their friend’s face as canvas and painted their magic. The ‘Face Painting Competition’ challenged the Picasos of KUFOS with constraints, but their artistic talent accepted those challenges and provided the audience a great experience. Students from various departments participated in the event. Two students participated per team. Totally 20 students participated in the event. This event helped the students to bring out their creative ideas and talents. Students portrayed the environmental issues and measures to be followed to conserve it. Finally, four teams got shortlisted by the judges for awarding prizes. It was really a creative session which exhibited the artistic skills of the students.

 

◈ 18/07/2019 – Music Film and Literature Club Inaugurations and Competitions

The Film and Music Club was formed to equip the young minds of KUFOS with artistic skills and provide them with an opportunity for open discussion of ideas and thoughts.
The music club was inaugurated by young actress Mrs. Anaswara Rajan. The crew of the film ‘Mike’ also participated in the event.
On the same day, film actor Sri Vishnu Unnikrishnan inaugurated the music club. Then the cultural programs of the students took place. After that the function ended with a spectacular DJ program.

 

◈ 01/08/2019- Film Club-Film Quiz

A Film Quiz was conducted by the members of the Quiz Club on 1/8/2019 at conference hall, Administrative Block. The quiz was conducted for twelve teams of two members each. The winners were awarded mementos. The goal was to break the aperture and synthesize a strong rapport between the students who were exacerbated by the problem of loneliness by providing the opportunity to students for testing their knowledge of film industry and cordially interact.

◈ 20/12/2021 – Arts Club – Christmas Celebrations

Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Christmas celebration was held on 20th December 2019, in the University quadrangle. The University was beautifully decorated, and everybody was dressed in red and white. The programme started with an information about Christmas and why is it celebrated. A beautiful skit followed depicting the scenes of the nativity of Jesus Christ interspersed with melodious carols sung by the choir. Right from the conception of Mary to the birth of Jesus a harmonius story was displayed by the students. The event ended with cheerful Christmas greetings as the students danced to the melodious tunes of ‘Jingle Bells’ and ‘We wish you a merry Christmas.’ The dazzling entry of Santa Claus added to the joy and excitement of the students. The boundless joy of celebrating the festival was visible on the faces of all the children. It was a joyous and amusing programme for everyone.

◈ 04/08/2022 – Film Club, literature Club and Music Club Inaugurations and Activities

The film club inauguration of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies was conducted on 04/08/2022at seminar hall. The Film and Music club was formed so as to equip the young minds of KUFOS with the artistic talents and further provide them with an opportunity for open discussion of ideas and thoughts. The inauguration of the Music Club was carried out by young actress Ms. Anaswara Rajan. The cast of movie Mike attended the function. Later on, the same day, Film actor Mr. Vishnu Unnikrishnan inaugurated the Music Club of KUFOS.A DJ programme was conducted for the students thereafter on the same day The inaugural address was given by Registrar Dr. B Manoj Kumar with the presence of Dr. Anu Gopinath and also the club in charge faculties and teachers. This forum provided the students an opportunity to watch, discuss, review and analyse films. Moreover, it was a fantastic launch-pad for the student aspirants in the field, exposing them to liberal arts and critical thinking.
