Centre for Advanced Studies and Research in Entrepreneurship Development
The School of Management and Entrepreneurship at KUFOS envisions the establishment of a Centre for Advanced Studies and Research in Entrepreneurship Development in Fisheries, Agri-Business, and Rural Industries as part of its 2017-2022 strategic initiatives. This center aims to foster entrepreneurship among stakeholders, particularly within the fisheries sector, by offering direct and virtual incubation services. It emphasizes skill enhancement, collaboration with international business incubators, and the protection and management of intellectual property, empowering individuals to achieve social and financial stability.
The center seeks to create a robust ecosystem for entrepreneurship by forming strategic partnerships with organizations such as the Kerala State Backward Classes Development Corporation (KSBCDC), National Minorities Development Finance Corporation (NMDFC), National Fisheries Development Board, and the Small Farmers Agri-Business Consortium, as well as various financial institutions. These collaborations will facilitate the establishment of enterprises, benefiting individuals from all communities, and promoting inclusive economic development.
By equipping aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools, resources, and support needed to succeed, the proposed center aligns with the university’s mission to drive innovation, economic growth, and self-sufficiency in fisheries and allied industries. It underscores KUFOS’s commitment to creating sustainable livelihoods while contributing to the broader objectives of rural development and poverty alleviation.
